Byron Shepherd – “A Flavor of East Coast Hospitality”
My love of cooking began as a child while spending time in the kitchen with my mother.  Growing up, I enjoyed to cook and entertain for my family and friends. Since then, I’ve gone on to obtain an apprentership in cooking along with a certificate of catering from The Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School.  I’ve worked in different types of establishments and hotels throughout my career and have had the honour of cooking for the likes of Shania Twain and Wayne Gretzky.  My culinary training does not stop there, I’ve also taught nutrition to elementary students and completed various courses and workshops.  Along the way, I’ve traveled to various parts of Canada, the Caribbean and Europe including Italia, Poland and Norway picking up various and diverse culinary styles.  These adventures have helped me grow as a Chef, and I apply this knowledge and these skills to my customers' needs.  I launched my catering business in 1995 and I have been in the kitchen now professionally for almost 35 years.

I am married and have two beautiful daughters.  I have an extreme passion for the great outdoors.  I enjoy spending time at my cottage with my family and friends.  I'm a proud member of the Candian Fly Fishing Team and I've competed nationally and internationally for over fifteen years.
